It all started with a baby and a bottle of bourbon

Oak Born Wood was founded in 2018 by Brian Abraham. He was inspired to start this venture after his mother gifted his 1-year old son a bottle of bourbon. While that is a strange gift for a 1-year old, this bourbon had a special significance. It was a bottle of Jos. A. Magnus bourbon. Joseph Magnus, a distant relative of Brian’s, started his distillery prior to prohibition but was inevitably shut down. In 2015 the distillery was reopened and this bottle came from one of the first batches. Brian wanted to create a keepsake to store the whiskey in until his son turns 21. This led Brian to start planning and building his first “booze” box and the foundation of Oak Born Wood.
